Through the practice of Tai Chi we seek to attain a state of strength in the body and stillness in the mind. And while this a lofty goal, we seek to go further. We seek to not only attain this state, but to maintain it within a dynamic environment.
What do we mean?
We mean it’s not good enough to be relaxed and calm while in a quiet space, free of the pressures of the outside world. What we need is to be able to maintain that state while living our real lives. While the push and pull of family, work and community continuously seek to destabilise us, we need to cultivate a strong, stable state which we can maintain while effectively dealing will all that the outside world throws at us.
